Chinatown Neon Sign Switched On

A giant neon sign outside the Chinatown Parkade was officially switched on by Mayor Gregor Robertson, Councillors Kerry Jang, Raymond Louie and George Chow together with community leaders yesterday.
Robertson recalled seeing neon signs all over Chinatown and Downtown when he was a boy and said he hopes the investment by the City will help attract more people and create business opportunities for Chinatown.
Omni reported that a number of new businesses such as clubs and karaoke bars are opened in Chinatown and attracting young people and professionals to the area.
