Supporting housing project for women launched

Work has begun on a $28-million supportive housing project located at 525 Abbott Street in Chinatown. When completed next June, the joint BC- City of Vancouver project will provide 108 units for at-risk women and youths in a energy-saving building.
Councillor Kerry Jang said the facility will offer support to homeless women and provide them with a good place to live and learn so that they can stay away from threats such as violence, drugs and sex discrimination.
