HST’s impact on sales of Olympic Village units

Commenting on the possible impact of the HST on the costs of the Olympic Village market units, realtor Syrus Lee asked why the City is not considering a quick sale of the remaining 2/3 of the units before the HST comes into effect next July.

Councillor Kerry Jang said the City is working with the province to see if the units, which will be “used units” as they are for the athletes first, can be exempted from the HST. He adds that the City does not want to be discounting them and it wants to be getting the most money out of these units if it means waiting a little longer.
