ANDREA REIMER – KERRY JANG JOINT LAUNCH STATEMENT - 
Gregor Robertson identified two key priorities for Vision Vancouver. The first is to make Vancouver a green and sustainable city. The second is to break the cycle of homelessness, addiction, and mental illness.
This is why Andrea Reimer and I have joined forces to run together for City Council. As a team, we have the skills, expertise, and experience Gregor needs to meet his two key promises to you and the City of Vancouver.
Andrea is highly respected in the environmentalist community and is the Executive Director of the Wilderness Committee. Andrea has been working on issues that have a direct impact on our lives in the City, including sustainable and ethical development, urban sprawl, climate change, and solutions for dealing with garbage and waste.
Kerry is a Professor of Psychiatry at UBC and has spent many years promoting community mental health across Vancouver. His efforts helping develop programs to address homelessness, mental illness and its prevention has been recognized by a number of awards, just as his research on the causes of mental illness has been recognized internationally. He is an advisory board member to the Mental Health Commission of Canada, which will have a pivotal role in shaping public policy for mental health issues across Vancouver and the nation.
Over the coming weeks, Andrea and I will be speaking out on our ideas and solutions for Vancouver. We’ll also be working to bring our City’s diverse neighborhoods together to discuss what each has in common and how each is unique. In this way, we can find solutions that work for everyone, no matter where you live.
